Overseas Licence Conversion
If you have a current overseas motorcycle licence you may be able to convert this to a New Zealand licence. Depending on the country of issue and how long you’ve had the licence you may need to sit a theory and/or practical test/s. For full information on overseas conversion please visit the NZTA webpage – https://www.nzta.govt.nz/driver-licences/new-residents-and-visitors/converting-to-nz-driver-licence/
We can help with training courses and would recommend the Bronze Ride Forever course once you have been issued the Learner Licence.
For those who are required to sit the practical full licence test, we do not recommend doing the CBTA F for this. Doing a CBTA F requires you to apply for an additional exemption afterwards, and there is a high chance you will be denied the exemption. We recommend you do the ‘Practical Driver Test’ with a licensing agent. Should you opt to do a CBTA F against our advice, Pro Rider will not provide any refund or compensation.
